This week I started college. I walked into my first class (Spanish) and sat down in the last row. I have always heard that you should sit in the front row, but I felt shy. I know, me, shy? Never. But alas, I had a shy moment. So, in came the students, girls, boys, the teacher...and a boy sat down next to me. His name was Brent. After our introductions, Brent looked at me and said, "I failed Spanish twice in high school." I thought, "now I know why you don't sit in the back row." The next day I got to class first, and sat in the front row. A girl came in and sat next to me...I asked her name and I thought I detected an accent. I asked her if she had ever taken Spanish before...she said she speaks Spanish fluently. She is half Mexican.
I will be sitting in the front row from now on.
